Whimsical Wednesday #12

Good Morning and welcome to another Whimsical Wednesday: Diedrich Dare challenge!!!

Thank you to everyone who played along in last week's easel card challenge! We appreciate it so much and I have to say, your creations were CRAZY good!! :) I think I'm going to have to practice this style of card a bit more. Well, today we have a sketch for you and trust me when I say you'll DEFINITELY want to play along this week because.......thanks to Marie, Jess and Club Anya, we are giving away an ANYA OR IAN OF YOUR CHOICE (in stock, of course) to one random player!!! Woohooo! *insert happy dance here*

This week's sketch is brought to us by little Jack Diedrich and it's perfect for all your vertical stamps! I have to say, when I first glanced at this sketch, I thought to myself 'Jack doesn't want us to stamp something in that little, itty bitty area where his name is, does he?!' Then I convinced myself that he was just signing his sketch and we could use the whole panel to stamp something. Phew! So when my stamps from There She Goes turned up, I looked at the tags we had to play with and I kid you not - I had one of those light bulb moments!!

I extended the vertical panel to the top and bottom of my 5"x7" card and because I knew I needed to use some ribbon vertically to hold my tag in place, I split the background panel in half to create the horizontal element instead. Want to see some more inspirational cards using Jack's sketch?? Check out what the Daredevils have whipped up for you today!

Now it's your turn!! Just create your card and upload it to either your blog, SCS or PCP. Then come back to this post and leave a link to your creation using Mr. Linky! You have until 12am CST December 1st to be in the running to win an Anya or Ian stamp!! I can't wait to see all your creations!!

Before I let you go, there's just one more thing: Unfortunately we have to say goodbye to a talented Daredevil today. :( Lisa Hjulberg has had to make a tough decision and will is stepping down from the Dare this week. Please join me in wishing her well and leaving her some love on her card! We miss you already Lisa!! ((hugs))

Whimsical Wednesday Week #11

Welcome to week 11 of the Diedrich Dare blog challenge! It's Randi, and I will be your hostess for this week's Whimsical Wednesday dare.

This week's dare is an EASEL CARD!

Madelynn was so inspired by her mom, Jessica's amazing easel creations, she decided to issue this challenge! So, thanks to Madelynn, here is my very first easel card.

Supplies:
The Greeting Farm- Summer Fairy Digi [to be released on Nov. 19th]
Copic Markers
Stickles
DP: MME
Cuttlebug Embossing Folders

My card is actually 5x5. With score lines at 2.5". I pushed my brad back a little to have it stand more upright. For more info see my blog post here.

Below is a diagram for the easel card. And, my photo tutorial to simplify it. Keep in mind, it can be any size. Or, altered in any way....just so long as it's an "easel". There are also some great tutorials if you do a search on SCS.

Be sure to check out what the wonderful Daredevil crew has created!

Jessica Diedrich
Sandra MacLean
Rebecca Ednie
Lisa Hjulberg
Kim Ross
Jacquie Peifer
Heather Schlatter
Debbie Lee
Darla Wilson
Cassie Larson

I hope these photos will help. I wanted to keep it as simple as possible. That little black dot is for your brad.
You only need 2 pieces. Your large panel only needs two score lines at 2" apart.

Fold your large panel at the score lines, like you would a letter.

Then AFTER you've completed your card piece, attach it to the panel like so....and you're done!

If you play along, be sure to post it to Mr. Linky below, or with keyword DDSC11 over at Splitcoaststampers.com

Get creative and have fun! Thanks for playing along!

Week #10 Challenge by Jack!

Hello dear stampers and welcome to the newest edition of Whimsical Wednesdays: The Diedrich Dare! My name is Lisa Hjulberg, and I'm happy to be your hostess for this week's challenge! Jessica's DS Jack is DARING us to make a card/project inspired by these cool mugs:

It took me a moment before I realized what the green one says! {LOL}

For my card, I took cues from the two mugs and the colors:
Details are on my blog: The Craft's Meow.

For more inspiration that is sure to delight your senses, check out what the Daredevils have DARED to create this week:
Why not come and join us! We'd love to have you! All you have to do is leave a direct link to your blog or gallery post in Mr. Linky so that we can see your interpretation of the inspiration piece. If you post to a gallery, please use DDSC10 as a keyword.

Happy Wednesday!

I'm so excited to be this week's featured stamper. I don't know about you but my family is ready for Halloween. It seems like everyday this week we have something fun planned to get ready for Saturday. My girls already have their costumes laid out on their bedroom floors. I think the costume is their favorite part of Halloween. Of course they LOVE the candy but they really like to dress up.

Since we are all about Halloween this week I had to make a card to celebrate it! This week the talented Madelynn, Jessica's 9 year old daughter, came up with a fun sketch for us to do. I can't cut ovals with my cuttlebug so I had to do a circle. Also, I moved the sentiment to the left instead of the right.

Before you check out everyone's cards, head over to the super sweet Cassie's blog for a fun quiz. She posted this quiz on her blog and asked us to answer the questions and post it on our blogs. It is a fun way for all the daredevils to get to know eachother.

Leave a comment here and let us know if you want to play along and if you posted the quiz to your blog! If you post your card to a public site please use DDSC8 so we can find your creations!!

Ahoy, Mateys...

It's Wednesday....yay!  Time for another installment of the Diedrich Dare!

We have a SUPER EXCITING announcement to make today before we get to this week's DARE.

Please join me in welcoming my friend, colleague and SUPER DUPER talented and fabulous RANDI WALL has joined the Daredevils!  I first met Randi when she graced the Greeting Farm's DT as a Gardener and we have kept in touch ever since.

She is amazing with paper, shimmer, and more and we are all excited to have her.  And I HAPPEN to know that she loves Pirates as much as we do in the Diedrich household so this was a fab challenge for her to start up with!

Yep, behold DDSC7:

This INSPIRATION CHALLENGE is brought to you by none other than Matey Jack.   So it was just kinda fitting that I needed to use the MATEY set from The Greeting Farm!  I cannot BELIEVE this set is on clearance for only $7 btw...can you say STEAL?  I just wanted to make mention of this too because tomorrow is the Farmer's Market so TONS of good deals and steals!

I actually printed out this treasure map paper straight from the internet.  I had hoped to print out the pic that Jack chose but I was having issues with it, AND my week...this is actually a card I made many months ago that I never blogged.  Anyway, I definitely used a literal take on the challenge but cannot WAIT for you to see what the rest of the DAREDEVILS did!  Check 'em out:

Well, now it's YOUR turn!  Be sure to LEAVE A COMMENT here to play so we can all see your great creations...and you can use DDSC7 for uploading to public galleries!

Be sure to stay tuned....next week it's time for another prize!   See you soon and I DOUBLE DOG DARE YA, MATEYs!

Whimsical Wednesdays - The Diedrich Dare week 6

{ETA: Congrats to KRIS! You are the winner of last week's challenge and you WIN the Down by The Pond set! Please email Jessica to claim your prize! Thanks to ALL for playing!!!***}

Hey everybody...it's another week of sketch challenges - and this week Madelynn gave us a great sketch. I'm the lucky featured stamper this week. So...here's the sketch. It looked to me like it was ALMOST a circular type card. However, I'm not so good at circle cards, so I just decided to round the corners instead. I went with the fall theme, since we're right in the thick of autumn here in Chicagoland. The colors here are stunning right now. It's just too chilly for my tastes.
Anyway...below is the sketch...

And here's what I came up with. Check our the other wonderful works of the Diedrich Daredevils - their blogs are listed in the column. Debbie can't play this week, so we'll catch her another week. If you'd like to play along, you can upload your card to a blog or SCS and make sure and link it on our blog so we can go check out your creations.

Have a fabulous fall day everyone! Happy stampin! Darla
